LCD lets you choose the pricing scheme that fits your budget.
Before deciding to enter into a contract with us, you should know a couple of things about the Rock Band Network in general. First, bands decide how much they want to charge for their songs. That price can range from $1 to $3 with the average price being $2. Second, of all the revenue generated from sales in the store, bands keep 30% with the remaining 70% going to Microsoft and Harmonix (the developers of the game). That is the standard contract that every band agrees to.
Here are our pricing options (all fees are negotiable):
Revenue Sharing
This option involves a small creation fee paid by the band to have the song authored. Once the track has been authored and properly playtested by the RBN community, we’ll use our own Creators Club account to upload the track to be sold. Because the track is under our account, we are responsible for reporting sales to the band and paying the band. As a fee for these services, we will keep a small portion of the revenue generated from sales (that percentage is negotiable).
Non-Revenue Sharing
With this option, the creation fee is larger but the band keeps the full 30% share of revenue. A portion of the creation fee is paid up front with the rest being delivered upon completion of the track. Once the playtest phase has been completed, the band is given the finished track file and is responsible to get the XNA Creator’s Club membership ($49/4 months or $99/year), Xbox Live Gold membership ($7.95/month or $49/year), and creators.rockband.com membership (free) that are required to upload the track to be sold. We can provide all the info you need to obtain these memberships.
For more details on how you can upload your tracks, check out the Creator’s Club FAQ.
